Andrew is a freelance Writer/Director and Editor. He has been making short films for the past six years – before, during and after graduating University.

He is currently working on several new short film ideas, a second music video for Birmingham band Rundown and in the developing stages of a feature idea. He is in the process of sending off his latest short film Next Door to several film festivals in the UK and Europe.

Recently, Next Door was screened at Birmingham Artsfest and Mayhem Horror Film Festival in Nottingham both of which received great audience receptions. In addition, he is the co-creator of an event called Filmrats, which is a multimedia evening of film and music, a hybrid of different creative artistry coming together to showcase their talents, enjoy music, film and to socialise.

He is also the co-organiser of Film Forum West Midlands – a social networking community for Midlands-based filmmakers. The idea of FFWM is to get people from different aspects of filmmaking from animator and director together to network through bi-monthly meet ups with the outcome of hopefully successful collaborations.

Work Profile

Filmrats came about upon moving back from University to discover that there were no events being held in Birmingham to help support local filmmakers.

“This inspired me to organise an event that would bring all sorts of creative people together in an environment where they feel comfortable and part of a growing community.

“I believe Filmrats is nothing but beneficial and much-needed for Birmingham’s creatives.”
