Laura Breakwell
About
Laura Breakwell is Creative Producer of Reel Access and she was instrumental in establishing the organisation with colleagues George Fleming and Tom Stanhope in late 2006.
She is responsible for the strategic direction of the company as well as its operations, and nurturing and establishing relationships and partnerships.
Laura takes an active approach to project planning and development alongside the filmmakers and artists that she works with. Prior to Reel Access, Laura was the Community Arts Officer for artSites Birmingham, which involved project management of a range of community arts projects across various art forms including fundraising, budget management, monitoring & evaluation and report writing.
While with artSites, Laura was involved in the large-scale production, A City of Villages, as well as the HamFisted production of Paradise Dreaming.
Laura has a degree in Drama and Theatre Studies and experience of working with a range of community groups and young people including previously co-running C & T Theatre Company’s Youth Theatres. She has recently completed an OCN qualification in Developing Sustainable Organisations.
Laura is active in Birmingham-based choir Notorious and sits on the management committee in the role of Vice-Chair.
